What it is - A woman who is sexually attracted to other women; a gay woman

History - The concept of "lesbian" to differentiate women with a shared sexual orientation evolved in the 20th century. Throughout history, women have not had the same freedom or independence as men to pursue homosexual relationships, but neither have they met the same harsh punishment as homosexual men in some societies.
The word lesbian is derived from the name of the Greek island of Lesbos, home to the 6th-century BCE poet Sappho. She was an ancient Greek woman who wrote poems that included homosexual themes. The term “Sapphic,” named for this poet, also refers to female homosexuality.
According to feminist writer Naomi McCormick, women's sexuality is constructed by men, whose primary indicator of lesbian sexual orientation is sexual experience with other women. The same indicator is not necessary to identify a woman as heterosexual, however.
Myth Busted!!
A myth is that one person in a lesbian relationship must take on the role of the man. One partner may play a more traditionally masculine role, but that isn’t necessarily the norm. Each relationship is different. The gender dynamic depends on the specific people involved and how they interact with each other.
Kate McKinnon, best known for Saturday Night Live is 98.5 per cent lesbian, apparently. Kate said, "I think it's so apparent that I am [a lesbian]. I have not seen a human p***s... except on a nude art model. I don't hook up with people I don't really like, and I don't really like any men. I would give myself a 98.5 les rating."
'Duck Butter'
A film that basically takes place in quarantine before many of us knew quarantine was a thing we’d have to do. This indie film from 2018 follows two women who meet at a bar and decide to go through all the stages of an intense romance within just 24 hours.
